The American Advertising Federation – Rio Grande Valley is an affiliate member of the American Advertising Federation headquartered in Washington, D.C. The AAF-RGV is one of more than 220 such professional advertising and marketing federations, representing over 50,000 members nationwide. It is the only professional advertising trade association that encompasses all segments of the industry in its membership, that is, advertising agency, media, supplier and client. It is this melding of thought that makes the Ad Club special.
The AAF divides its membership into 15 Districts nationwide. The American Advertising Federation – Rio Grande Valley is a member of the AAF’s 10th District. The 10th represents over 2,800 members in 26 federations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The District provides organizational help and offers networking between various markets. Statewide, it helps fight legislation that may be unfriendly to advertising. The 10th District holds a Convention each April, and two Leadership Conferences, in January and August. These meetings are aimed at providing you with help and ideas toward achieving club goals, speakers, ADDY Judges, professional development and more.
Averaging 70 members valleywide, the AAF-RGV meets every quarterly, rotating meeting locations between the upper and lower Valley. At these meetings, many national or regional industry leaders are featured to discuss a variety of topics directed at increasing our advertising expertise. From time-to-time, local business leaders are invited to broaden our understanding of the business complexities affecting our future.
